Hannah Murray will star in Danish indie film Suburbs. Directed by Jeppe Rønde in his first dramatic feature, and produced by Blenkov & Schønnemann Pictures, the film is based upon the mystery Bridgend suicides of South Wales. The film is already in post-production will soon be on the film festival circuit later this year.
God Help The Girl will screen in March at this year’s South By Southwest in Austin, Texas. Despite not having a poster nor a trailer, this will be the musical film’s third film festival screening after a successful premiere at Sundance and soon-to-be European premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival.
Womens Wear Daily has interviewed and named Hannah Murray as one of the ‘stars on-the-rise’ at this years Sundance Film Festival, alongside Mark Duplass, God Help The Girl co-star Emily Browning, Rinko Kikuchi and Damien Chazelle. Hannah reveals a brand new project, “an untitled fictional film set against the backdrop of the Bridgend County suicides in Wales”.
By all accounts the world premiere of God Help The Girl was very well received at this years Sundance Film Festival in Utah. Hannah was in attendance promoting the film with co-stars Emily Browning, Olly Alexander, Pierre Boulanger, director Stuart Murdoch, producer Barry Mendel and the members of Belle & Sebastian.
